Honing my leadership abilities ...
Appointed President of HMS Society
Executive Committee Annual Year 21/22

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEMBER (PRESIDENT) | NOVEMBER 2019 – JUNE 2021 | NP HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES (HMS) SOCIETY

As an Executive member of HMS Society, I am responsible in leading a team of 45 other student leaders in school-wide events. I have guided my fellow members through many brainstorming sessions for annual events such as 'Freshmen Orientation Programme (FO), the 'Leadership Adventure Camp (LAC), other HMS related ad-hoc events like 'HMS Day' and community service through fundraising for various beneficiaries. All of which, have garnered an overwhelming positive response and optimal participation from the students in the execution process.

I am grateful to have been part of a society that works towards the common goal 'Think People'. More than just a club to bring the school of HMS together and build the HMS spirit, we are a family that goes above and beyond to ensure our service are most beneficial to those in need. Being a part of HMS Society has encouraged me to think critically and come out of my comfort zone to work with a diverse set of members.

Certainly, every leadership journey is not smooth-sailing. Moreover, as the pandemic dawns before us, my team has encountered several challenges that have halt our planning and shifted them to the virtual world. Nonetheless, I am not afraid to ask for help and support from my members as I am a strong believer in teamwork and dedication. Hence, even though most of my leadership journey has been carried out online, without a shadow of doubt, my experience in HMS Society has been worthwhile.
